The body of work is an introduction to the outcome of my research as part of the 2017/18 QANZAC 100 fellowship I was awarded at the State Library of Queensland. Each work depicts a Queensland soldier's experience during the First World War, and is inspired by his letters, diaries and photographs from the collection at the John Oxley library. The work is an exploration of the subconscious, and the possible impact archetypal imagery can have on us.
It is a staggered show in the lead up to Anzac Day 2020 - new works will be added over the coming weeks. The first work, Herbert Mallyon (Forest) 2020, will be installed Friday 13th March.
